About Me
Good evening Friends! I’m AudreyStephannie, but my friends call me Drey. My goal in life is to become a saint while living a pseudo-bougie lifestyle outside my fulfilling physician career. That’s right; soon, I’ll be Dr. Drey (pronounced dr-ee), not to be confused with Dr. Dre. I try to be a Jill of all trades (meaning I’m a hobbyist who rarely becomes an expert in anything) and an enigma that keeps everyone on their toes (meaning my life’s goal is to watch all the Black sitcoms ever made while rewatching every single episode of Seinfeld for the 6th time). My favorite hobbies are buying books and reading them, though the latter has yet to catch up to the former. I originally created this blog to cross three items off my 25 before 25 list. Read 100 books in a year(though at 25, I have yet to cross this off), grow into the identity as a tea snob, and start a blog. Basically, I wanted an audience to see me living my most reckless yet sanctified life. Though we are now past 25, keeping this blog allows me to put my thoughts out into my little corner of the world and cultivate my joy.
I blog about books and tea because I love stepping into the human experiences of those around me and fictional characters. I’m also tired of people assuming that all bookworms are coffee addicts; some of us choose to receive the drug that is caffeine in the form of tea. There is nothing more exhilarating than sipping a hot cup of tea while analyzing a book from multiple perspectives. In fact, when I’m not reading, chances are I’m discussing some issue through the lens of spirituality/religion, ethics/philosophy, art, economics, science, pop culture, and/or a recently read book. I have strived to create a book blog that shows the versatility of my interests while prioritizing Black (diasporic) or African authors.
I know there are many ways to consume media today; however, I believe that reading is the best way to sip tea. So if you are looking for your next book or just want to enter into my thoughts, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome, dear sipster, to the family!
Stay Blessed & Stay Sippin’!
Drey
